Mercy BioAnalytics, Inc. is a pre-commercial biotechnology company committed to reducing suffering and saving lives through the early detection of cancer. We are looking for a passionate individual to join our operations team as a Lab and Office Associate.
Responsibilities will include supporting the day-to-day operations of our laboratories and offices and ensuring a safe, healthy, clean, and efficient work environment. The successful candidate will manage Mercy BioAnalytics’ supply chain to ensure the availability and quality of consumables and supplies that are critical to our success and help maintain accurate inventories. This candidate will have excellent organizational and time management skills, be able to balance multiple priorities, and feel comfortable working independently to support the needs of our scientists and other colleagues.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Help with the planning and execution of the upcoming relocation to new headquarters and actively manage all related activities during supervisor’s absence
- Order and receive lab and office supplies, tools, and equipment
- Act as the main point of contact for deliveries, pickups, and mail
- Support packing and shipping activities, including cold-chain shipments
- Receive all antibodies, cell lines, reagents, and other similar lab-related deliveries in collaboration with scientific project leads and ensure proper storage conditions
- Support management of lab consumables and chemicals, office supplies, and other inventories
- Maintain inventory dashboards and provide reports
- Coordinate and supervise regular deliveries and pickups (e.g., dry ice, biowaste, chemical waste, lab coats, process gases, food, and drinks)
- Work with vendors and partners to ensure adequate supplies and timely deliveries
- Support the lab waste management and organization
- Conduct regular lab walkthroughs and audits (with/without Environmental Health & Safety consultants)
- Support implementation and observation of safety policies and good work practices
- Provide office support by helping with stocking, organization, cleaning of common areas and with planning of company events and guest visits
- Communicate with and respond to building management
- Deliver oral and written updates
- Support logistics of company social events (e.g., weekly team lunches, celebrations and holiday events)
Requirements:
- Associate or an equivalent degree, preferably in a life sciences field
- Minimum two years of work experience in a similar or related industry
- Previous experience with:
- Planning/supporting lab and office relocation
- Supporting biological laboratories of Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2)
- Handling biological and chemical materials and waste streams
- Office and facilities support
- Ordering, receiving, stocking, and shipping functions
- Inventory and supply management for labs and offices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with Prendio procurement system is desirable
- Outstanding organizational, time-management, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
- Prior experience working in a team-oriented environment supporting cross-functional teams
- Proven track record of meeting critical deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal)
- Positive attitude to engage challenges and issues in an open, direct, and constructive manner
