Responsibilities
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of the Mercy LIMS system, and act as a liaison between users and the continuous development of the LIMS system. This role will support the JIRA workflow management portion of LIMS and lead the Labguru implementation of material management.
- Write and review code related to the LIMS back-end when needed.
- Aid in the development and improvement of our Knowledge System and its integration with other internal and external systems, enabling the development of self-service portals for experimental plate map design and lab scientist driven downstream analysis.
- Create and maintain pipelines for transformative data engineering in order to efficiently feed our knowledge system with new internal, or external, data.
- Support the Computational Biology team in any and all technical/technological matters as needed. Such as generating code, designing automation solutions, and creating data engineering pipelines.
- Be proficient in the workings of the Posit(R) ecosystem. Help to troubleshoot platform and process problems, such as making R libraries available, and/or create new interfaces to empower our scientists.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in innovative data solutions, analytics platforms, and data engineering.
- Proven record of accomplishment creating and maintaining technological solutions for life-science and biotech needs.
- Experience in data engineering, pipelining, and big-data ETL/ELT processes.
- Deep understanding of the Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket).
- Extensive knowledge of cloud systems (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP systems)
- Experience building/maintaining various application servers (e.g., Apache, Nodejs, Posit)
- A thorough understanding of network data communication (e.g., API rest calls)
- Expertise with containerized application development (e.g., Docker, CoreOS, AWS ECS and EKS)
- Proven ability to create and conduct a formal software system test plan (CI/CD).
